so, here's who I am
Arome (Art + Rom)
I am a belgian artist doing art since I can't event remember. I study at the “Institut des Arts de diffusion” in the Multimedia option.
Art is my whole life, I am interested in many different way of going through it ! And that's kinda the problem,. I can't test every single thing and be good at it. That's kinda frustrating but I am still trying my best at it !
As far as it's going I've tried drawing with many techniques, painting with water color, acrylic and textile paint. I also did some wooden fournitures, some clothes too and some sculptures. Finally, I play guitar (electric and classic) and ukulele.
I also love culture ! Books, movies (especially animated ones), museums, travels and can speak english and french. It's already a lot but I still want to test many other things as I think life is more interesting while discovering and testing everything that seems fun and creative !

traditional
I love digital art but I will always go back to traditional when I can. Because it is where it all started, with a blank paper sheet and a pencil. So it's comforting for me to go back to this simplicity after being behind a computer, crying after a software crash screen for hours.
I love to draw and paint at home at my desk with some good music but also outside, looking for reference in the people passing by, in the nature or in the architecture. They're all very inspiring, sometimes even more than the best board on Pinterest. When I do so, I like to use a simple pencil or a black pen and if I have the time and a still reference, I like to add a little bit of life with water colors.
Sometimes I use acrylic paint but I will always prefer the delicate touch of the water colors. There's something peacefull in the way of mixing the water and the pigments with this techniques wich make it one of my favourite.
digital
I discovered digital painting when I first got a tablet. I was 12 and was first drawing with my finger. Then I got a digital pen wich made it way easier. I love to do posters, logo and branding but sometimes I like to take a break from all of that work to draw little character, doodles, silly animation or tiny comic strip.
The advantage with this technique is that you can undo almost everything you do so I am never too scared to do mistakes as I know I can always duplicate my work and use (my beloved) ctrl+Z.
But despite that it affects my view, that is, already, really bad. And it will never depict the feeling, the diversity and the sensitivity of traditional art. So, even if I'm working more on screens for school and that it will, surely, be a big part of my job later, I will always go back to my good old traditional when I can.
others
There's a lot of different techniques in this category, so I won't be able to talk about everything but I'll try my best. I did some character in paper mache, like the “Petit Prince” or a big whale shark that you can see in my galery. This technique allows me to transfer my character in real life but it takes a lot of time so I'm not doing it to often.
I also crochet a lot to relax and keep my hands busy. I love the fact that I can to that while watching or listening to someting and still be productie in a creative way. I work with wood too. I do furnitures that I design myself with my grandfather. And it takes a lot of time too but I love to have a bigger result.
Another thing I love is to take pictures of everything I see. I do it sometimes with my phone, sometimes a camera for concerts and sometimes a film camera. Sometimes, I also edit them in a software like Lightroom for a better render.
